Vlog 1 - Meg and Kate's Mouse Tales - Application and Interview!

Surprise!

Yesterday I came home to this.

My AMAZING girlfriend... No. Wait. I'm sorry. Mickey Mouse... dropped this off at my house. Everything inside had one very important purpose: To get me acquainted with the Disney College Program.

Inside the Bag of Awesomeness: A whole pack of Toy Story fruit snacks (I'm crazy for fruit snacks), a Toy Story cup, Disney Pixar's Greatest Hits CD, THREE sticker/coloring books (I'm also a sucker for those), Disney Universe, an adorable Mickey and Minnie puzzle, the last two pins I needed to finish one of my collections, and Disney Hedbanz!

HOLY AMAZINGNESS. So obviously, we broke open a pack of fruit snacks each and played Hedbanz.

Meg on the left, me on the right.
Come on, Meggy...

And then today, we put together the puzzle :)

I had been having a bit of a crappy day yesterday... and this really cheered me up. It was so sweet <3 Thank you thank you THANK YOU, Meggy! ...I mean, Mickey Mouse! You are the best ever <3 And I love you very, VERY much!!!!!!!

Iggy wanted to get in on the action.

The Results Are In...

Drum roll, please...

SERIOUSLY cannot believe this popped up in my email today. The emotions are impossible to describe properly! The best I can say is that I am SO VERY excited and so EXTREMELY happy!

It's been exactly one week since my phone interview :)

I'll be working in Merchandise. I was lucky enough to get my #1 role!

My girlfriend got in today, too! I feel so blessed to be able to share this experience with her! I recommend checking out her blog :) http://megsmousetales.tumblr.com/ and http://megsmousetales.blogspot.com/ She knows more about Disney and the CP than anyone I know. And she's an Alum, so hit her up with any questions you might have.

Now excuse me while I continue to perform ridiculous dance moves around my house and scare my cats.

See ya real soon!

Phone Interview!

I had my phone interview today! So exciting!

For anyone who has already had their interview or is having it soon, GOOD LUCK! Don't be nervous. The interviewers are really nice. Answer the questions to the best of your abilities.

I applied last Friday, did the Web-Based Interview... and scheduled my phone interview. All within a few hours! It happened so fast!

Here are some of the questions I was asked:

  • Why are you interested in the Disney College Program? (This is THE most important question!)
  • What are your top role choices? (Be honest! Don't say you are interested in doing something if you aren't.)
  • Talk about your most recent job. What are your favorite things about it?
  • How do you feel about working outside?
  • Why are you interested in a PhotoPass role?
  • If you were a character attendant and a child seemed shy about meeting a character, what might you say to them to get them to meet that character?
  • Do you prefer a fast paced environment or a slow paced environment?
  • How do you deal with multiple interruptions coming your way during work?
  • Do you have a valid driver's license?
  • Any questions?

Here's how I prepared for my interview:

  • I wrote out a LOT of questions and what I might say to each. I find that after writing it down, it sticks in your head better. But you still have the notes there just in case you need them.
  • I taped my notes down. That way, the interviewer won't hear rustling papers.
  • REMEMBER TO SMILE! They can hear it in your voice!
  • Put on my Space Mountain shirt and took a deep breath.
This is what my wall looked like.

If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I am EAGERLY awaiting an answer. Here's hoping I did well! Good luck to everyone!

Stay magical!
